Cool pics Tommy and Kathy! Thanks for posting them.

Are you guys coming down to Hammond for the COPS season opener?

Mark

Little Tommy 03-31-2004 09:20 PM

Hey Mark, Good to hear from you. I believe we will be there Sat night. Probably will go to Chief plant in the afternoon and then enjoy some cocktails with everyone in Hammond.

Tom

thedonz 03-31-2004 09:33 PM

very nice pics, is that a 36 and a 41 in post #3?

Little Tommy 03-31-2004 10:15 PM

Blue Moon is a 2001 '36 with a single mid tank. Mine is also a '36 with 2 tanks, the front being 100 gal and the rear 140. Mine, Thunderstruck, was built in 1994.
My nose is lower due to all the luggage in the front and 100 gal's of fuel in the nose. The weight in the front really paid off on the way to Key West when it got rough.

Tommy and Kathy,

I'm jealous!!! Looks like you guys had a great time in FL.

I wish I could make the trip with you up to Chief. I need to make some time and check them out. Look forward to seeing you at the COPS party.

Thanks everyone- We did have a wonderful time and the weather was great! The only problem was that the time down there was too short!

Tommy and Kathy

Ike 04-01-2004 10:44 AM

Tommy, i have some pictures that were taken from the back of the cig factory and your boat is in the water behind apache. The condo's were still being built so that was about the time your boat was new. It's not a great picture of your boat because of the distance but they still are cool.

pm me your address and i'll send them to you, Ike.

Sounds nice, is it a step bottom or regular design? I'm curious to know what performance you are seeing with mild power like that? Just curious for future reference as I may be in the market at the end of the year.

Our 1994 '36 Apache has a straight bottom with 2 fuel tanks, mid and front nose. Dry weight 10,500 pounds, Bravo XR drives. 400 hours ago, the boat could run comfortabaly 78-80 @ 5,000 RPM, now we are down around 75-77 on the gaffrig GPS @ 4,900-5000 RPM, depending on sea conditions and weight.
I am either going to re-freshen these motors as soon as we get it back up here from Miami or are going to install tall deck 572's and rebuild the gimble's. I am a little nervous with the 572's becuase of the torque and the weak link of the XR drives. So I have not quite made up my mind yet.
The boat has been 100% reliable as of this point and just want to keep it that way.

WARPAINT 04-02-2004 07:10 PM

Tommy, i am so sorry to hear about your father.Hopefully better days lie ahead.:(

Little Tommy 04-02-2004 09:29 PM

Warpaint----Thanks for your thoughtful words. He was diagnosed 4 weeks ago with cancer of the pancreas. Only complaint----back pain. Go figure. We were told yesterday he has less than a week. Sure is hard to see a man that was once so strong turn into this frail frame of skin and bones. It just breaks your heart We are thankful that the pain medication is making him comfortable.

WickedWon 04-03-2004 06:40 AM

Tommy, it was good to meet in KW and the boat looked great. Sorry to hear about your dad, went thru the exact same thing with mine 12 years ago. Get rid of the mirrors and be sure he gets WHATEVER it takes to keep him comfortable. He'll always be around when you need him and in time the picture in your mind will be of him prior to his illness.
