Powerplant makes an electric arc
 

This is video from an Arizona powerplant.
The technician is disconnecting the powerplant from the western states electrical grid.
Several hundred megawatts of electricity arc across the physical contacts as they are disconnected by drawing them apart.

The resulting man made lightning effect is really cooool. This happens only once every few years.

I work at a power plant, we see that all the time we open up a disconect all though not as big, you should see it when its damp out.....:cool:

This one was on some foreign web site. could not read the stuff just finding stuff on the . In Europe a lot of stuff is legal there. Don't sleep much at nite:eek:
