Hey Yzbert,
The ice will be re-forming on the Bay by the time you get your boat back from that half-azz mechanic and recover from the heart attack over the bill. So don't get too excited over that open water.

That's my "girlie" take on it so don't laugh if I did not explain it 100% correctly

That's pretty close, It's not that you can't transport on the roads it's how much weight you can carry. Michigan allows you to carry a specific load per axle, on a typical gravel train, for instance, you are allowed 13,000lbs per trailer axle, normally, but during the frost laws you are only allowed 35% of that so the price of material goes way up so the truck makes the same amount of money. In the case of equipment if it's big enough that they have to haul it on a low boy then there aren't any trailers available with enough axles that can handle the weight legally when the frost laws are on so you wait. The frost laws come on when everything starts to thaw and come off when the last bit of frost is out of the ground and that usually goes by county ours are already off.

have you guys been to crazy days in the last few years? Last time I was there they were cutting down on the number of people allowed into the snowflake lounge(I think) damn fire codes. So it wasn't as much fun when the bar and the deck were only half full each

Never let it be said that you can't learn something on OSO every day! Thanks MsPatriYacht and Ofshore! It's really hard to fathom something like that when it just doesn't stay that cold around here.

Help yourself to my boat, I won't be using it. Looks like I will probably put it up for sale very soon.
