Officialy Retired
After 30 years as a Firefighter, I'm now retired:D :D
Guess I need to find a real job now:( :( Steve |
Congrats!!
:D |
Cool, Welcome to the real world:D :D
|
Steve congrats on a successful career! I know how you're feeling. I too retired, back in Sept 2001 after 24 years of being in the U.S. Navy ridin' aircraft carriers and several tours in F-14/airwing staff positions as an Aviation Weapons Officer. I'm well into my second career and that retirement check for life makes things REAL sweet....:D
|
Congrats!!!
|
Way to go!!! Congrats and enjoy your retirement!
Craig:) |
Way to go Steve!
Now you can hang around with Jack all day and keep him out of trouble.:D |
Thats ausome! Let me be the first to thank you for putting your life on the line every day for your community! In my eyes your an unsung hero!!
|
Good Deal!!
|
Awesome, now you will have more "Baja" time!
|
Good for you Rampage!!! And thanks for getting up in the middle of the night for 30 years straight for both the "real" fires and for the little old lady who just couldn't take the pain anymore (even though she's had it for 2 days). You guys are the best in my book.
Now....do you know what you want to do??? There's some pretty good money to be made in testing ground ladders to make sure they meet specs....just a thought. My Dad did the same thing for 25 years and now does the ladder testing. Keeps him busy, let's him hang with all his friends and puts money in his pocket. Good deal if you ask me. :) |
Yipppeee.... now you can move onto a second career and become..... A DOUBLE DIPPER!..............:D
|
congrats..
|
Congrats on the retirement. My Dad retired a few years back after 33 years as a Firefighter. I don't think he has missed it once. :D
|
Congrats. Thanks for serving your community for 30 years. That's awesome. You deserve what you have earned. :)
|
Great show...and thank you so very much for your risks and service....
Now......Enjoy ....... |

Congrats Steve!!! I know there are very gratifying times on the job but I can't wait untill I drive home from the fire house for the last time. I think I could get used to sleeping with my wife every night again.
|
Congratulations.
A friend of mine also just retired from the F.D and then hit on a scratch lottery ticket. http://www.enterprise.southofboston....ews/news10.txt I hope the same luck comes your way.:) |

|
 Congratulations:cool:
My uncle retired last year from HFD after 30 years and could only fish and golf so much. He is still the VFD Chief and enjoys it just as much as he did before. Now enjoy your life, you deserve it after all those years of service to your community:) |
Everybody,
Thanks sooooo much for all the well wishes!!!!! Every public worker owes a big thank you to every single taxpayer. It was that bite out of your incomes that paid my salary. You were the real Bosses, not the Chief's or City Hall........ Roger 1 To keep Jack out of trouble,I would have to hire extra help:D ;) Dyno, Thanks for your opinion, and I do appreciate it.But, one of reasons I retired as early as possible was because of the new generation of firefighters.Unfortunately, the first words out of their mouths is HERO.When I started, I knew what the risks were and what the benefits were and just like most people, took the job to pay the bills. All jobs require sacrifices of some sort. The last stats. I saw,had mining and farming in the top 5 most dangerous occupations.....The new generation seems to be too concerned with ego, perceptions, education, and city hall;to get down and dirty........ tanned fat, Not sure if being home with my wife EVERY night is going to be a good thing or bad:D ;) If you're ever up this way give a shout.Have plenty of room for ya.... Candyman, GREAT idea for a new job!!!!!After all, I live right between the builder, rigger, and painter. If they won't let me test drive:( Maybe I could get a job transporting or deliveries(Scott,Chris,Sean,Bobby,Mitch??????) See you and Vicki sooon.... Formulabill Good luck brother.I'll keep the run in mind, and if you ever get north, give a holler.... Thanks again Steve |
That's great Steve! Wish I was in that scenario.
MAybe you could just transport boats to and from TAOD's there. So, what are your plans? I see the Outlaw's for sale. So, what's the future hold? Maria still working yet? You going to make her slave while you watch Oprah? LOL! Mark |
Now you have time to burn more fuel.........:)
Good luck.........Cya this summer Dennis |

Mark What's the future hold????Probably poverty:( Talked to Loucks several months ago,but he was happy with the people they had doing the transporting, but would keep me in mind:rolleyes: Maria's still working, and if I stay in this high$$ hobby I might need to find her a second job;) Any luck on the new Outerlimits???? Dennis, With the price of gas,I don't know if we'll be doing many of the COPS runs....You have the Fountain ready for the water????? Steve |
Hey Steve Congratulations on the retirement, you're a young guy I bet after a while boredom will set in and you will "work for gas money".
See you guys soon. Donna |
Steve , Ive been doing it along time myself, 22 years to be exact. Ive been on the job for 12 years and loved every minute of it. Ive been off on an injury for 5 months now and for the first time I could see myself retiring and not missing it. Being home with the family and not missing out on alot of events is a new thing for me. I am anxious to get back, but I now can see the light at the end of the tunnel and can see enjoying it
ENJOY IT PAL, YOU TRULY DESERVE IT AND HAVE EARNED IT |
Steve,
I'm getting closer - to summer that is! It's a boat and I'll be working on it 'till the last minute:p |
