Wink 24 firefox

Hi guys, you may find this boat interesting. It is a 1979 Cig. 24 Firefox, I think its a Firefox, you guys tell me, with a 420 TRS,originally tweaked by Baker Engineering, I bought this boat used in Clinton Twp. Michigan in 1987,had it two years, loved it but limited cockpit space for family, sold it for 19000 which is what I paid. It was still in Michigan but out of town,so I lost track of it for awhile, then a friend of mine here in Port Huron bought it and it has been here in town the last two or three years. My son always loved that boat, and while I was in Florida on vacation in March,he called me and said it was for sale and he wanted to buy it. Well he did and now its back in the family again. It has fresh paint and a little bit different striping, but same colors. Very sharp boat still. It has an all teak dash with Hondo type swept back guages, and a floor mounted gas peddle, which is the way it came in 79. Could use an interior but its not bad. He paid around 15000, hard to put a value on a boat this old and this nice, but we are glad to have it. Anyway, let me know what you Cig. buffs think, thanks, Dave B

Arrow 24 cig.

Thanks Craig, you would know. By the way,you and I met years ago here in Port Huron at the APBA race, congrats on the Dragon project, looks very interesting. Mike, I had the build sheet for this boat at one time, the original owner was a car dealer on the west side of Mich. I will try to find this info,as I knew 3 of the 5 owners. They are here in town. Heres some more pics, interior pics yet to be taken. What about the value Craig and Mike, like I said, my son bought it so I wanted to be sure he was safe at 15000 with trailer. It is perfect in the engine compartment visually,we have yet to perform leak down on motor, and look at drive oil for contaminants, but otherwise very nice, runs about 62mph. Thanks for your interest, Dave B

Cool azz boat. At least you don't have to worry about someone pulling up with one just like it.

The guy that your friend bought it from is named John Dydra which is a good friend of mine. He owned the boat for about 8yrs and hardly ever used it and mostly just sat on the lift. It is a real nice boat that was well cared for. The only thing that I didn't like was that the engine hatch which seems to weigh like 300lbs and was a real pain to open.

IMO the boat was easily worth 15k. As long as it was structurally sound and all.

Great lookin' boat by the way. I'd love to see more pictures.

I would think that one would be a squadron XII 24 Cigarette. I may be wrong but it would still have the Firefox hull but the firefox deck was a styling change to the squadron XII.

I thought Aronow sold Cig in 79/80 and then started squad in 80/81, only to buy back into Cig in 81 and merge Squad and Cig, and I believe the squadron name was dropped off shortly after. So a '79 would be a 24 Cig without the squadron name involved. The squadrons actually had "xex" as the first three letters of the hull serial numbers while it was a separate company for a year...... my 81 '27 Squadron/Cig is this way
