Hawk Power?

I see a lot of Cigs for sale with Hawk Power. Was there a connection once, how are their engines?

HiPerf2000 04-19-2004 01:45 PM

Go to Dragons website and read the bio on Craig (in the "about us" section.

should give you your answer. ;)

Thanks Cord...You know, I was just browsing some of those threads. I remember some of it. Interesting stuff, to say the least.

Cord

I think you are thinking about the wrong Hawk !
Baja aske about engines that are in a lot of Cigs and that would have to be from the original Hawk not the idiot Todd.

Hawk used to build great engines when they still excisted and a lot of them still run over here. I would recomend a Cig with Hawk power to anyone if it is from the the original company.

I posted all the threads so there wouldn't be any confusion. Then I clarified the issue with my last link. This all reinforces what hi-perf-2000 linked to. I don't think Baja has any confusion.

CigDaze 04-19-2004 03:53 PM

Thanks guys. All clear here. :)

Cord

I was just thinking that if someone did not have the time to go through all your links they could easy get the wrong idea ! So I just thought I would clarify a little.

stinger312 04-19-2004 07:50 PM

The original hawk marine power was owned by Jerry Jacoby and was located in north Miami

Sean 04-19-2004 08:08 PM

Bobby, Just got home an hour ago Its 80 degrees here right now, no sence in being down there

CigDaze 04-20-2004 07:30 AM

Thanks, guys.

Okay...So, what I'm learning is that Hawk power was originally Keith Eickert, Jerry Jacoby and Bobby Saccenti. Keith and Bobby left around '82 and Jacoby sold the operation to Cig very briefly at which point Craig Barrie got involved. I'm I right so far?...

When, If ever did this Todd character get involved?
When did Hawk build its last engine?
How do they run? How is their reliability?

CigDaze 04-20-2004 07:33 AM

Cuda, let's just say, we've been deep in thought lately...
We're looking to move up shortly. Hopefully, by this time next year.

OTIS, LS...I've been eyeing it. Looks clean, sharp. Blowers scare me, though. If I got something with blowers, I could always de-tune and sell the blowers, so it wouldn't necessarily stop me.

HiPerf2000 04-20-2004 07:43 AM

Don't be scared....boost is your friend.

I had the same little blower on my Check. It ran flawless, and you wouldn't know there was a blower until you heard it wine when getting up in the R's. If it is set up properly they are great to have.
