|
Key word here.....................$HIT!!!!
|
I'm sure there is bigger water on the Great Lakes.
MoneyMind would know. |
Any MIT professors out there for some physics calculations...........?
let's assume you are in a a Top Gun with........it really doesn't matter the HP in this situation......and let's say a launch speed of 60 mph off the crest of a 100ft tall wave (keep in mind, there probably is a 150ft hole behind it)........the question is: How far and how high would you fly above and beyond the initial 100 footer?:eureka: ............and...........what are your chances of survival? :D |
ZERO
But if its was a Apache it would float back to the surface unscathed |
I think I would abandon ship, by way of helicopter...
what was the name of the movie... with the fishermen? oh I know it just can't think of it.... |
Perfect Storm.

I'm just kind of surprised there are no "extreme" surfers riding it. :D

Reggie's next speed run will be down the face of one of those waves.

I used to have video on one of my old computers of a fishing boat out of Gloucester were the wave goes over the boat, you hear the fishermen in the background counting off for about 8-10 seconds and then they pop out the top of the water again. NO FREEKING WAY would I want that job....

Originally posted by Troutly Well, lets make some assumptions here.....first, lets assume the boat FALLS the total vertical distance of the height of the wave crest (100 ft). And, lets assume the take off angle was +45 degrees. With this in mind, the horizontal distance the boat would travel at a 60 MPH vault would be approx. 317.659 feet...not adjusting for center of mass... :) |
Ya Troutly I came up with 317.656 feet :p :p :p
|
Oh see I took into account for the driving rain pushing down on the boat and the dencity of the air :D:D The devil is in the details :D:D
