cause of recent crashes

I have been seeing a lot of car crashes lately and I am wondering if there is a connection between louvered hoods and non louvered hoods? I have noticed there less stopping distance in louvered hooded cars because if the way they go down the road and the drag coefficient is increased due to the louvers. Now my concern is my vette has louvers on the side to cool the brakes, so should I be concerned?:p

This car has air inlets also but not louvers and it does seam to have a drastic traction problem in the back.

That AMX looks Awsome!!!

I personally don't think its a louver problem...I think it may have something to do with those stupid "snake eyes" lights on hoods distracting people. Or perhaps the rash of obnoxious (and, frankly, noxious) rear wings cars seem to be sprouting these days.

"Gee...is your car both fast AND furious?"

nice wheels boys, real nice, haven't seen an AMX that clean in years,my uncle had one that could get through all four gears doin a 360 and when it launched it would pull the front wheel, all stock, and rob, beautiful camaro, always loved those cars!

I think the biggest problem facing the high performance boater is hydroplaning. Once someone figures out a way around it, the sport will be much safer and insurance rates will drop. I hear Goodyear is working on a new hull design with this in mind

cuda 04-22-2004 12:15 PM

I'm not sure about the louvres, but I am sure you can pick up 8 to 10 mph by cutting notches in your tires.:)

Downtown42 04-22-2004 12:23 PM

uh oh, step tires...

Manuel B 04-22-2004 01:24 PM

My louvers are funtional, in the winter as soon as I pull in the driveway the cat jumps up and sits on them,
