FOUND the tool...need accessories

Okay, I found the tool. I bought an Ingersol Rand 90 degree angle die grinder at Lowe's. However, they did not have the polishing/sanding accessories shown on the box. So I go to www.irtools.com and cannot find them on their website OR the 90 degree die grinder itself! Can anyone :eureka: me as to where I can get these accessories? Oh yeah, went to NAPA too and they didn't have exactly what I wanted. It is so hard describing EXACTLY what you want when you don't know exactly what it is called.

What you want to do is go to an automotive paint and body supply business... You need a 3M "Roloc" Disc holder... they are 1/4 mandrel and come in several sizes... for a 90 degree die grinder... you want either a 2" or a 3".... most shops use 2" you can get several "scotch brite" style pads to fit or sanding discs.. even high speed polishing discs... but go for the 3m "Roloc".. then you can get your discs anywhere... they are pretty much the standard of the industry... :eureka:

85 bucks for the whole she-bang?... that is a good deal... because some of the roloc adapters are over 20 bucks each... :eureka:

Grainger has em. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/searchresults.jsp I assume McMaster would too. I have the Grainger ones at home if you want a part number.

Don't buy this tool expecting to polish your intake manifold. You'll burn out a smaller compressor and freeze your hand off.

AWESOME! Thanks guys. Gotta leave work now but will check it out when I get home.

If you are thinking of polishing the little nooks and crannies of a intake manifold... you will need some abrasive wheels called "craytex".. or Kraytex.. or you can go with the same thing from a company near me called Matz rubber in Burbank ca....213 849-5170... that may be an old phone number... but I'm sure they are still in Burbank.. they manufacture the rubber wheels and "points" that fit on a 1/4 inch mandrel... they have abrasive impregnated in the rubber and are used for polishing... good luck.
