I've read several posts recently about boats being stolen while on the trailer. Does anyone have stories/experience of boats being stolen while in-water? I'm not too worried about my boat at the dock (GPS tracking & video camera), but just curious if dirtbags steal from docks, too.

They steal bass boats all the time during tourneys from the docks at night. They would float them two coves down and cut off the transom and lift it out with a crane. They always find whats left of them at the bottom of cove and trails for the truck(s). They usually do it a few times a year and haven't been caught (some how).

lots of the lakes in mid west. Can't recall if they did it at LOTO, I know they did Truman and
Stockton and others. My uncle was at 2 of the tourneys it happened to. He said they went for all the higher powered yamahas and mercury's. It's happened for a few years now.

Our neighbors across the street told us about this heist. They said they saw it and thought it was our boat.:) Apparently it was yellow and black also.
