Anyone seen this before? |
That race was actually the run where Bob Nordskog set the San Fran to LA record (5:57:22 - I think it benefitted the Olympics, which were held in LA that summer.
I'm sure this was the Program for that event. Cool thing to have! from http://www.powerboatmagazine.com/ins.../bnordskog.php "In 1984 Bob Nordskog organized the famous Golden Gate to Spruce Goose Chase, an offshore powerboating event to raise funds for the U.S. Olympic Team. Annually the Bob Nordskog Memorial Trophy is awarded by his son, Jerry, in his honor and memory at the Ventura Offshore Powerboat Grand Prix, the hometown event the "Iron Man" sponsored and competed in for years in the Pacific Ocean waters next to the headquarters of Powerboat magazine." |
Yup, I have the whole collection.

Looks like a Sutphen on the cover.

It does, it does. I don't know why they did that? Bob's boat at the time was a Scarab. Later he changed to a Fountain.
