Default PROJECT: Cuddy cabin

Well, this weekend the gf crawled part way into the cuddy and emerged screeching obscenities at me, including but not limited to filthy, you pig, disgusting, etc. You get the picture. So, realizing that it's current condition is not earning me any points and the chances of a romantic interlude on the lake are all but non existent, I crawled in there myself to see what the fuss is about.

Aw chit.

Ok, I know about the vacuum cleaner part, but I don't know what to use to clean the upholstery. I found an old bottle of Resolve fabric cleaner(empty) in there. Is this what I should do, or does someone have a better idea?

Please...help me...

Are the offensively dirty items fabric, vinyl, carpet etc? I used a light bleach and water solution to clean vinyl cushions etc when mildew became a problem.Be sure to test a small spot to make sure it doesn't ruin the color. Try 2 capfuls per gallon of water and see how it works. If its carpet buy some carpet cleaner for cars and shampoo the heck out of it.Vacuum before the shampoo and very thouroughly after.Let the cabin air out til its dry.Resolve or other fabric cleaners will work on cloth etc.If you can remove any cushions, carpet etc. do it outside the boat and really let them air out. Read the directions on any cleaner you buy to make sure you don't ruin the materials.Good luck!

It isn't stained, just reeks of mildew and lack of care.

No problem, you just have to open the hatch and go out and run the boat as fast as you can.

If the boat is fast enough, you will outrun the stink, and it won't be able to find your boat to climb back in.

Also works with people, but they have to go out on the bow...
