I had a visitor this morning
 

I was looking out the kitchen window a few minutes ago and there was a moose in my yard! He was standing in the water next to the dock taking a bath. I ran outside with my camera and startled him then he headed up to my drive way. :D

I used to live in Patten, we would see them all the time had a logging road next to the house, and I was 12 and had two little ones 4 and 8 with me and a huge bull come out in front of us maybe 5' feet away talk about:eek: :eek: Breeding season the bulls can be aggressive he stared for a few seconds and walked off...

Its the time of the year when Mama kicks out the baby from last year....they are real stupid for a while!! I was up near Sugarloaf a few years ago in June and the dang things would run up to the truck like to say "are you my mother" Too cool! Kurt you got it made up in Gods Country!!

His mama apparently taught him well -- the good son was taking a bath! Mama would be proud :D

That is PhotoShop, This is in line with the Big Foot pictures from the 70s. I call BS. Not really, I saw a baby Moose on a back trail snowmobiling, I shut it off and watched it for at least 10 min, it just stood there. They are a rarity and nice to see once in a while. We have seen large ones from a distance but they always run.

It really is not rare to have a moose stroll through the yard. Last summer we had a real big one swim across the river, walk up the lawn (busy Saturday morning) past all the kids and dogs and just strolled into the woods. They have no fear of anything so they will walk right past you.

I was there in 82-85 and was 10 years old in 82, My parents moved back there and we still have close friends up there. Rick Cameron Family had the local bar. and I not sure if you know the Andersons. They now own most of the town

Potato Farmer's are funny I couldn't believe that when I started school, you go for about 2 weeks and then everyone has 3 weeks off to go pick potatoes... I thought it was cool but at 50 cents for a barrel that wasn't going to happen.
I babysat for Scotty's flying service which was cool as hell the kids taught me how to swim:D
by the way never go in a bait pond with a 5 and 7 year old in a canoe when you don't know how to swim:eek:
we would ride 3 wheelers and 4 wheeler and there was 3 different beaches, just awesome........ and I got paid for it.
