I had one on my last boat. I thought it was the coolest thing until one night leaving the dock bar, it wouldn't go up. No better feeling than leaving a dock bar at 1:am knowing that you now have a 95% chance of either A) getting pulled over by the water patrol that sit outside the bar coves or B) getting hit by some really drunk SOB who can't see you...
...so I have a nice simple, manual one now. Works every time.

Shorty, That had to be a bad feeling. I think I would have made my wife hold a flash light up.

I just installed mine. Got it from Eddie Marine. Love it. It's the shiznit. Nice and flush in the down position. Also, no pole bouncing around in the boat, Kids can't step on it , plus my manual ones never worked when I needed them. Either the bulb was busted or the contacts in the sh!tty perko base were corroded
