What pistons and compression are you running?

I have been running hydraulic roller cams in the last few motors. I switched out to another set of JE's for a Compression ratio of 12.7:1  taking full advantage of the 110 octane ;) And running a solid roller, 250/258, .595/.595 lift. computer program gives a idea of about 60-70 hp more then last year. an estimate is around 570 hp.

NO - I couldn't find the $ this year so I am going with
the new Pro 1 heads tricked out by Jim V.
That and the Hyd Roller cams instead of the sollid flat tappet that I ran last year.
I also 0 decked the blocks and bought a 10 QT Dooley oil pan ( I still need one more - ANYONE GOT ONE)
With the new heads and cams and a slight increase in compression I hope to gain 50 to 75 HP per engine.
I hope to be in the 650 to 670 HP range.

I sure am glad that I can run mid grade in my tub.
I remember the good old days when I had to run 110 in the GLASTRON.
The FAST guys used to follow me all the time and I couldn't figure out why untill I asked one of them.
( THEY LIKED THE SMELL )

Thanks Danny / Travis
I new I could count on you guys to come through.

traviss 05-01-2004 09:22 PM

It does smell good.. Even my mom likes it :D

I decked mine to zero so I could use some good gaskets instead of those .015" steel shim gaskets I was using. End of last year those gaskets were blown out in a few places  The cometics should keep everything sealed in ;)

Sounds like you have a great setup for this year, expessically with a set of heads tricked out by jimv. good luck tinker, hoepfully I'll be over this summer and check out your ride some time :)
