Mike, gotta set your standards to what you want
Do you do go boating all season?
Or go boating once at LOTO?
What has a higher priority?

I too am facing similar situations, I know my limitations on what to spend.
Is one trip worth the whole season?
LOTO will always be there, but the season will come and go real fast.

I say get the motor, rebuild yours at a slower rate and then sell one to pay for your next LOTO trip.

I am looking at a similar situation. But mine goes to the truck. I know the Tranny is weak so I plan on only local boat trips simply because I do nto want to drop 2500 into another transmision.

Too late to back out of LOTO now. Condo is paid for (yes Tim, check is in the mail!). And I'm NOT bringing my boat to LOTO anyway. Was not planning on it whether it was running at that time or not. Cord will have his boat, and MitchStellin is bringing his. I don't need mine there too.... Cheaper to pay gas money than to drag mine down there.

well then, your money is paid for this LOTO trip
then you have the upcoming time to get the motor

I know the feeling though, I fight my deals everyday I drive the truck.
Right now i am looking for a slip on the local lake just to have my boat in the water

No way Mike, I don't have room I am bringing Kevin along, by himself. Is it just you and the Misses or were you bringing a buddy of yours, we will have plenty of room, I just want to know if I need the third seat . We can put most of the gear in the boat. Not too many days away and I need to burn some fuel, I filled the tanks and I want them empty before the long tow, no need to haul an extra 1000lbs. This is going to be a riot, I put a heater in the boat last night and slept in it in the garage. I put a little TV in there and it was great. The V berth is really comfortable and long, I usually have jam my feet in the V to fit, this one is 6'5" or so. I may sleep in the boat at LOTO

Foul,

I think you have your priorities in order. There are plenty of boats that are going to be with us. No need to waste gas and money just to bring your down. Take your time and get Waterfoul running when the time is right.

Hey Biggus,
I might be interested. I talked to Puder about his short block a while back but I'm not sure I got the time to deal with it. Was the motor dunked? Have you done a leak down whil ot was running? Ya' think it'll make it for a few seasons 'til I can afford bigger?
Ken
