Anyone have a 454 short block they want to let go cheap?
If I want to go boating at all this year, I need to tear down my motor and rebuild it. I've been thinking about simply putting my "stuff" on a short block and then taking my time (read: all summer) to put mine back together. Sooooo.... if I had a short block I could go boating fairly soon versus waiting for my block to be machined, crank turned, etc....
I'd take any hp shortblock. Even if I only go 55 mph this season, at least I'd be boating.
Can anyone point me to a cheap short block? I don't have a lot of money.

It is complete carb to pan including all accessories and wire harness.
It was a salt water motor. A friend of mine had bought a boat from an insurance salvage auction. A big tree had fallen on the boat and crushed it. We used the drive and transom assembly on another project. I did have the motor running and it seemed to run pretty good.

Take it foul, Then do your project at another time when your financial situation is better. Then you can turn around and sell the 330 complete and get your $$$ back out of it

I'm not sure I can come up with 1500 right now though.... that's a little more than I want to spend.... reason I was looking for a short block. If I spent that much, I'd have no $$ for LOTO on Mem. Day Buck.
I'm kinda waiting to hear from Audio about a couple or take outs he may have access to soon. Either way, I'm yanking my motor soon.
