Just called and told them that I'm a Florida resident, NOT a $MC member from out of state!
Mike, That $MC crap is still going on @ your new house? Is this a deal the developer made with the $MC to get the permits to build your waterfront sub-division? What does the developer say about this B/S? Dean |
Love the logic.
Their key issue is, of course, to protect manatees...however, if you pay them $750, magically all danger to manatees, goes away. Nice. :hothead: |
Sent my emails....

Mike,
Good luck, I can't believe that the state will allow this to happen! That would drive me crazy, knowing that I had to pay $$ to the $MC every year and all the $MC wants to do is END POWERBOATING in Fl. Dean |
Originally posted by Formula Outlaw How in the hell did the Save the Manatee Club get the right to bill you guys? I would have blown a friggin gasket right there. Any STMC'er ever tells me I've got to pay them money, or worse, put one of their damn stickers on my boat and I'm gonna be up for multiple life sentences. I hope your hoarse from sceaming at that lying sob. |
Ya know..
These organizations get their agendas passed because there is no counter organization. Until this bill, I have not seen anyone ever argue with PETA or $MC or any of these extremist organizations at their level. It's always us, the pee-ons, that get stompted on. We seriously need to get together and do something about stuff like this. Sure we would need some financial backing like $MC's got Buffett, but I think we really need to look into some organization that would counter these dweebs. Give em hell Mike... |
Re: Florida : Call's needed !!!!
Originally posted by Wardey Tuesday, May 4, 2004 10:38 AM YOUR VOICE IS URGENTLY NEEDED TO SUPPORT SB 540 Boaters and manatees won a significant victory when SB 540 passed the House of Representatives. The Save the Manatee Club and other animal rights activists tried to defeat the bill, but were unsuccessful in their attempts. The bill creates two studies which should help both manatees and boaters. The first study is a sea grass study to determine manatee impacts on sea grass beds in and around power plant warm water discharges. The second study asks FFWCC to look at creating a balance between recreational boating and manatee protection. It also will look at the question of whether slow speeds actually protect manatees. And, finally, it will look at the dangers for boaters associated with unlighted speed zone signs. This good bill also says that when manatees in a`particular region have reached their "biological goal" then the FFWCC will give great weight to that fact if they feel additional speed zones are required in that same region. The Governors office is taking tally of Yes & No "votes". Please call the Governor's office TODAY 850-488-4441 and tell them: 1. Your are a Florida Resident -- give your city 2. You are a member of Standing Watch and or a recreational boater. 3. You support SB 540 The animal rights activists are flooding the Governor's office with "no" calls. Please lend your "YES" voice to this effort Wardly, great post! I'm new here, don't know who's who. However it's great to see the Standing Watch Action Alert posted on this forum and read that people are writing and calling. Thumbs Up! Fever Mike. Please get in touch. I'm interested in learning more about the SMC trying to bill home owners per owned boat/jet ski. frequentflyer, there's is grass roots organization that does represent Florida Boaters. However it takes members and member involvement. Check out the Standing Watch web site. standing-watch.org |
