I bought a Fiber Steel lift & am very happy with it.If you look at the structure & how they are built I think you will agree they are well made. The price was better than the others also. They did a good job installing it & threw in a nifty set of bumpers that hold the boat centered until the lift contacts the boat.

I've been at the lake for many years and Dave Brooks at summerset boat lifts is the best for knowledge and servicibility. he has had galvalift for years I've bought over 5 lifts from him and know him personally. he is the only one i trust to set the hoist up properly, which is just as important as the lift quality.

what are everyones opinions about raising the lift when your boat is not on it.

I cant convince myself that the wave action is greater below the surface than at the surface. Then, the arguement that the water in the tanks causes a problem, well the water in the tanks weighs just as much as the boat, so ....

Buy a remote and save your lift and dock. I have seen many a lift left down and when the owner returns the lift is at the bottom of the lake or hanging from one of the mounts. the dock also takes a pounding

its not as hard on the lift as it is on the dock in rough water. raise it, of course if i lived in tthe back of a cove that didnt get any rough water i wouldnt worry about it
