New Armada

So after reading all the posts about "your tow vehicle" I broke down and bought a new Nissan Armada today. I'd been pulling my Scarab 29 with a 2002 GMC Yukon... kinda of scary. It's a little too much weight for the Yukon. I read one post that said if you get in a wreck pulling a load too large for your vehicle you insurance covers nothing, your car, boat or the other car, let alone passangers.

So I signed all the papers on my fully loaded Armada, they take it across the street to top it off for me..................30 minutes go by and the sales manger comes over and says that the gas station had bad gas and my truck won't start. We go over there, theres 4 vehicles, including a brand new 35 foot motor home, that just put gas in and won't start to even leave the gas station. It seems that this gas station had just swithed its tank switch to a tank it hadn't used in months and all the regular unleaded was like rust water.

So now I'm waiting until monday for them to drop the tank, replace all fuel filters, injectors, pumps, and every component of th fuel system. Nice hugh.

Tough luck, all I can say is it better be right. I'm suprised at myself that I'm not as pissed as I am. I guess I'm getting old. Of course if I ever hear one even one sputter on Monday, I'll probably get pissed.

I may be wrong but the 29 only came with twin small blocks. If I am correct it had a 7 and 1/2 beam.
So what is the Nissan rated for?
I prefer over kill on trucks.

It's a single bick block, the boat weighs 5500, I figure with 100 gallons of gas, gear and the triple axle galvanized trailer I'm probably pushing 7500 pounds. The Yukon says 7100 max. 9100 on the Armada, 385ft lbs of torque. It's definately a lot faster and powerful than the Yukon. We parked them next to each other and the Armada was like a foot longer. I like it.............If I ever see it again.

my yukon Z71 with 3.73s is 7600lbs with 4.10s it higher
but your right the 5.3 is only 285hp and 325 torque
Im towing about 6000 with it.

the 6.0 has more HP but is thirsty
and with the price of gas , Im divided
