Tough Guy!! Like Airpacker said I hope that when I hit my 70's I'll still be able to work on my boat!! Hope all is well!!:)

Sounds like my old man at 77. He was mad at mom the other day because she wouldn't let him go on the roof to clean out the gutters.

I will keep him in my prayers. I can only hope for a speedy recovery.

While it's nerve racking....he's in good hands. We just went through that two weeks ago (minus the boat part). Medicine and medical professionals are amazing today. I hope that offers you some comfort.

Now see, that's what you get with a cruiser - if he would have been working a Cigarette, for instance, there wouldn't be enough room between the engines for him to fall into! ;)

In all seriousness, best wishes for a quick recovery! We'll send some prayers his way, and I'm sure his recovery plan will include plenty of time on the water!

Hope the heart thing is not as bad as it sounds.

I've gotten stuck twice. Once I was getting my flesh burned off by hot parts while I tried to tug my self back out. I had wedged my chest in farther and farther into a tight spot (trying to reach a dropped part of course) and when I got in far enough, my ribcage expanded out on the other side of a transmission and wouldnt go back small enough to let me creep back out. Had to tear my shirt off in shreds and pour a bottle of sunscreen all over my back and chest to get back out. A couple of sharp ends on some hose clamps ripped meat open enough to need stitches.

The other time I got "stuck" was when I got into a really really weird place in the back corner of the cruiser. It took me a full five minutes to get into that position and then while I was in there, I got a leg cramp - a bad one. Then in the middle of the leg cramp I was trying to get in a better position and got a FOOT cramp on the other side. I was lying on top of a Vacu Flush pump with it sticking into my kidney so I couldn't just lay there and try to relax. BUT that is what I ultimately HAD to do. I positioned myself so that I wasn't truly afraid of puncturing or damaging my organs with the vacuum pump and had to lie there and try to zone out the pain of the thing cramming in my back. Once I got myself to where I could "ignore" the pain in my back, I was able to force my legs to relax and was able to get past the cramps. Probably took 20 minutes. I was alone. I was the only guy at the marina. It was around 10pm.

I was so sore I couldn't hardly move for four days.



The chest thing, the whole family was on the boat, but I couldn't get anybody to hear me hollering. After a while, somebody FINALLY heard me. Wife helped me rip the shirt off and helped grease me up. In addition to those stiches, I had a pretty nasty burn too.

We all do some pretty stupid stuff.
Never been upside down for a couple of hours. Your Dad is a tough one.
