Re: Anyone going to Grand Lake Memorial Day?
Just take it easy and things will improve.
There are good plans in the works but we can't get crazy and mess up what could be a one time chance to get Duck Creek fixed!!!

I called GRDA and was told:
*If you are 30' or less and trailer-able you can go 30 mph.
*If your boat is 8' 6" or less beam and trailer-able you can go 30 mph. (But they are still working out the details on this)
*If you do not meet the able, you can not put out a 'sizable' wake.
*No one can make a wake from 8:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Cristal clear for me and Nickoteen.
Clear as mud for some of you.

Re: Anyone going to Grand Lake Memorial Day?
Didn't mean to cause a stir. I called the office on Saturday, and that is the story they gave me. Of course I then proceeded to motor out of the cove at 30 MPH with a GRDA boat following me, and he didn't stop me.
I just hope people don't take advanatage of this. My place is right across from Harbor View Marina and it is a pain in the a$$ to idle all the way out to the mouth. He said they would have the rules nailed down in the next week or so. I'm sure it will remain no-wake during the Holiday weekends.

Re: Anyone going to Grand Lake Memorial Day?
RIGHT ON! We went to Ugly's on Saturday afternoon. After I was told it was "use your best judgement" weekend on Duck Creek. On the way in, I had no idea what to do, was following 3 of my buddies, none of us could figure it out. Sometimes on plane sometimes plowing, definitely not idling. Passed GRDA as he was getting on plane. I got back on plane all the way to the Harbors View zone. At Ugly's we got the scoop about the 30 mph and limited wake rule. So on the way out we ran between 30-35 right passed the yacht clubs and everything staying very close to center. Awesome.
I hope this rule change sticks. I will do my part to not screw it up.

I don't think that there are any set rules at this time but we could have some very positive changes in Duck Creek. If everyone uses their head it will be to our benefit. Hell I hate to idle from Cherokee. Yes Ward will be at the lake this weekend and NO, WELL ADJUSTED will not be leaving the dock! She is for sale at Ugly's so that we can go fast again! Anyway sorry if the post from Sunday was confusing (I was still in a fog from Saturday)!

This Duck Creek situation sounds like it is improving, but I don't think I can plane less than 30 MPH . I guess I can bump up the idle a little. I am sure this weekend will be idle for everyone?
I would say Friday night will be either Cherokee or Ugly's. I don't know if anyone plans on traveling by car to the night spots, but I would advise against it. Holiday weekends are notorious for roadblocks!

I didn't know you could go faster than 30mph in that resin bucket.
Look for me. I will most likely be the guy with his thumb out on the wave break in front of the crib. I will however have chick(s) and beer!
