I guess buy a 17 and have cup pulled out of it to allow for RPM.
I doubt it will hit 6600, but it should get higher than 5000.
What is the overall opinion here. That is a huge rpm gap for such a small prop.
I have a really stupid question. Are props in your area measured in inches?
American Props are numbered by inches. Meaning Pitch = number of inches a prop will travel through the water with one 360 degree revolution. I am wondering if they are stamping with another measurement scale?

But this is at a high rpm, unlike what we are use to seeing with American BB Chevy engines. BMW engines make their torque/hp later, our BBC power comes on much earlier. The peak number of that BMW engine are impressive, but they a peaky engines... not very much unlike a turbo charged 4 cylinder engine (which is not good for a heavy boat). So what I'm trying to say is we don't have much experience with these types of engines. I think the Lambo engines which at popular in Europe are more similar to your engine. Those guys may be able to better advise you in prop selection.:cool:

This is interesting. Ludva is running a BMW in front of an Alpha Gen2.
Everyone is right. The peak torque rpm is in the wrong place for a marine engine. Not enough low speed power.
