Re: Spectre 32

We are very proud to announce the availability of the all new Spectre 32 Cat.
I have prepared a brief overview:

1)Design
The new Spectre 32 was actually built as a running plug. We ran the boat for a full 6 months developing and refining an all new design. There are several main differences in design from our current models. The running surfaces now utilize a 6 step design. The tunnel is considerably deeper which allowed us to raise the freeboard for a deeper cockpit. The transom incorporates a swim platform area which covers the drives.

2) Styling
Styling of the Spectre 32 is fresh and exciting. Our design team started with a clean sheet and came up with a new look unlike any other cat in the marketplace. We designed a new Polycarbonate windshield with attractive styling which protects all 5 occupants from excessive wind and spray. The windshield is manufactured in 3 parts and flows into the design of the sculptured deck lines. The cockpit is now a integral part with the deck. The all new dash design sports a all new look. All gauges and controls are attractively laid out for ease of operation in a contoured wrap around fashion similar to high end automotive styles. There is a molded glove box in the port dash for small carry on items. There are several interior styles to choose from including the traditional styles we use now or the all new race styled individual buckets. Storage is located in the side panels, beneath the rear seats and through a full width hatch located in the deck aft of the rear seats and in front of the outward hinged twin engine hatches. The engine compartment size has been increased for ease of maintenance.

3) Construction
The new Spectre 32 will be crafted using our proven techniques. All components begin with Supershield gelcoat, then are vacuum bagged utilizing Vinylester resin, Kevlar/Glass fabrics and foam core for a durable and light composite. Transom and engine stringers are pressure treated marine plywood.

Spectre30 05-12-2004 11:40 AM

Hey Maximus,
Thanks for the info on the new 32'. I guess I could call Jay, but I figure that you will know, where is the 32' measured from? Is the boat really a 30' and the swim step gives it the additional length?

Also, can you tell us how it performed and with what power? And can it use larger drives like #6's, or Weisman?

Thanks
Chris

P.S. Looks real good too!!!

Shane 05-12-2004 01:07 PM

That looks like it will be a sweet ride! Can't wait to see the finished product.:D

Miller 05-12-2004 01:32 PM

Is it optimized for inboards (it looks like it) or to run with outboards? What kind of speeds did they get with the plug? With what power? Also, what is pricing going to be?

Unrelated: what happened to the 40 footer that Spectre was working on?

Shane 05-12-2004 01:42 PM

Hey Miller,

Get my PM?

Wardey 05-12-2004 04:16 PM

Marc, Look's Good !!!! We will have the 29 ready for rigging and upholstrey in about a month. These two boats will probably come out together ?:D Dave Warden

Sorry for the delay

Strip- Lil square spot....swim platform...all you need right?

Chris...little of both longer than the 30 but measured with the platform...Long 32. Boat has not been tested with # 6 drives was designed for Mercury's newest style performance drives (released and unreleased :)

Shane..Thanks ....He (Jay) knew what he wanted and went straight for it. Comfort, Speed, Usability

Miller, Currently the boat is optimized for inboards, However the Outboard version (I have the first one ) should be done by the end of summer. The Plug was 5 miles an hour faster than the 30 WITH all the Putty and crap (unbelievable) First boat will be rigged with Mercury 575's Considering the 36 (depending on temperature ) runs between 118-125 with this set up...she should be fast. PM me for pre production build pricing. The 42 moves to the forefront now

Wardey, Cant wait to see it!!!! You must be excited, you've worked very hard on that boat, it will be awesome...wanna race ;)
