Lake Travis Resorts?
Where is the best place to stay at or preferably on Lake Travis? I'm planning on booking for the 4th of July so anyone have any suggestions? Price is really not a big factor.

search lake travis. we've beat this to death several times (don't mean to be rude - it'd just be quicker for you to get your ?'s answered this way).
short answer: where ever you book - do it fast. most likely lakeway hotel, mountain star and vintage villas are all booked up. these are the only 3 hotels near the water. search google. for lakeway, texas, vacation
etc... for prop. mgmt ext. houses/condo's on the water.
good luck.

If you know anyone who's in the Austin Yacht Club it's a great place to stay for 65 bucks a night. It's right around the corner from Carlos and Charlies. My boss is part of some sailing club and they trade off benefits. They have these cabins on the water. Some are just big rooms with a couple of futons, but some have bedrooms and kitchenets. You can leave your boat in the water all night. It's not 5 star or anything, but it's a good place to pass out.

The only "hotel" on the water is the Lakeway Inn. It is right next to the Lakeway Marina.
As others have mentioned, there is some off-water lodging including Mountain Star Lodge. There is also a bed and breakfast called the Robin's Nest.
Good luck!
