Anyone know of a surveyor in the Baton Rouge area. Would like to find one that is local to that area so I don't have to pay one travel time.
Thanks all,

Just talked to Buck.... anyone have any info they can share with him about the HP450?? The good, the bad... etc.... Isn't it basically a HP500 based on a 454 block, right? Predecessor to the 502 based HP500, right??

Buck,
I am in the Baton Rouge area. Are you looking at the 1996 32' AT with twin 465hp's? It has the name "face off" on the sides?? If so, the boats original owner lives in Lafayette, Louisiana. I could maybe give you a little info on the boat... As far as marine surveyers. There is one from New Orleans that I would recommend.

As far as the motors are concerned, In 1996 they were called 465hp,s. The 500's then were called "bulldogs" (540c.i.) I have always understood that Murcury named the 465hp moters by the horsepower @ the prop1996. In 1997-1998the 500hp(carburated) was named from its crank horsepower. I believe the 465hp and the 500carb are the same motors.

I would really appreciate contact info on that surveyor. That would help out A LOT.
Thanks for the info in both replies. Anything at this point in time is more than I already know. I hope that I will be happy with a carbed motor. Still a little shaky on whether or not I will like this set up or not.
Anyone else that has info feel free to step in.

Ray,
I called Kyle and left him a message. I also read over your PM after we talked this afternoon. Thanks SO much for all the info you gave me on her. Makes me feel better about the whole deal. Whether things work out on my end or not I still owe ya one. Thanks again.
I love this place.
