Re: Reputation button?

No, the OSO goodies will be part of the new Referral feature. Refer a friend to OSO and when they register make sure that use your screen name as a referral. Please make sure the spelling is correct (capital letters) and use spaces where needed, etc. Referrals have to be real people not imaginary friends. The software keeps track of the friends use of the site. We will design a goodie package for those that reacha certain referral level. As for the reputation, we are still trying to figure that feature out. Cap, I see you are going to hate the upgraded features.

In the past we have found that the members are better about figuring out how to use certain features than the admins are. Since the owners manual is quite ambiguous we will have to figure out how some of the features work ourselves. If anyone figur out how it works, please post it for all to learn.

Thanks,

OSO

Re: Reputation button?

some info on the Reputation Button....

Dots
The green dot(s) indicates your total amount of Reputation - the more Reputation you have, the more dots you will have (at the time of writing, one dot for every 100 rep points you have). There are 6 different dots:

http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/imag...utationoff.gif User has chose not to display his Reputation in public
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/imag...ionhighneg.gif High Negative
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/imag...utationneg.gif Low negative
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/imag...ionbalance.gif Neutral
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/imag...utationpos.gif Low positive
http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/imag...ionhighpos.gif High Positive

User is infamous around these parts (below -50)
User can only hope to improve (-50)
User has a little shameless behavior in the past (-10)
User is an unknown quantity at this point (0)
User is on a distinguished road (10)
User will become famous soon enough (50)
User has a spectacular aura about (150)
User is a jewel in the rough (250)
User is just really nice (350)
User is a glorious beacon of light (450)
User is a name known to all (550)
User is a splendid one to behold (650)
User has much to be proud of (1000)
User has a brilliant future (1500)
User has a reputation beyond repute (2000)

You can currently only give reputation to 20 people per day, and you will not be able to give to the same person twice, unless you've given reputation to another 20 members in between.

Now I get it, it relies on what others think of you.

I'm glad we cleared that up and I can toss that in the pile that I don't give a f*** about.

Also noticed that when you click on the scales, you can read peoples thoughts on that particular post, the one where you clicked the scales. That is if there are any thoughts listed for that post.

Basically, a member rating system by their peers. And you can rate, comment on individual posts without everybody seeing your thoughts. Anonymous.
