Yeah , I know...oximoron , right?
Well every once in a while my wife comes up with a good idea. After hitting some wood last thurdays with my LWP and got some lodged in the hose in the transom assy , water would get by but not force it out. Twice , I removed the drive and hooked the garden hose inside to back flush it. Well my wife said "how about some water and compressed air? Here's my result :)
It not only worked ....it was like a friggin water cannon

She's applying for a patent :D

What keeps the compressed air from pushing the water back up the garden hose?

I hate to burst your bubble... but these have been around for years... they are used to pressure back flush radiators and cooling systems... I've used it with hot water to power flush out contaminated oil coolers... :blaster:

Also had a gate valve on the end of the garden hose. Shutting that off would stop any back up.

Reed,
I never worked in a radiator shop :o sorry :D

The trick is you fill whatever has the blockage with water... then blast it out with water pressure.... the water comes in at a right angle to the air so it act as a venturi. It's the pressure surge of the water that flushes the stuff out.

You're wife's idea works the same way... If you don't have a power flusher like I do... I would have made the same thing... :D
