Single Engine Cat Guys?

Just curious, what kind, how big, what power and how fast and how fast are you aiming for?

Mines a Daytona 25, slightly stepped on 500efi with a blackhawk. 91.1 best so far at 5100rpm. Would like to see low teens so cruise would be 80 to 90 range but I think a drive and engine change is in order before that happens.

Do O/B count?
Used to have a 21 Eliminator. Most fun I ever had with a boat. 97mph with 300hp Evenrude, that was fast enough in that little boat.

Gary-I've ridden in that boat with the same combo. This is whole lotta fun. Gotta love the sound of that V-8 too.

V8 Evenrude = Big refridgerator on the back of your boat

26', 580hp, 30B1@5200=85mph. 32B1@5300=90mph. 34B1@5500=87mph. I know this thing will go 100 and I'm gonna get it there.

AP-I really want to get that drive on for this trip. If I can get it on, I'll be able to post some good numbers. I already have 27's and I just picked up some 31's. Naturally I think I need 29's.

I just joined the cat club. My new ride is a 1997 23' WPM Warrior and the motor is a naturally aspirated 598" with CNC heads, solid roller, CMI sweeper headers, and a Nickerson 1500 CFM dominator. HP is unknown and speed is unknown, but the speed will be known soon. It should do 100 plus, but ya never know!!

Re: Single Engine Cat Guys?

With those heads, the cam and carb, you have to be at least 800hp. Even without trying to set the boat up, you'll go 100.

Re: Single Engine Cat Guys?

That is what I am thinking as well Cord, but I am keeping 100 as my target. If everything is right 110+ is very possible!! Getting everything right takes some time and experimentation as we all know, and money as well!!

Hi Sean:

Can you guys post some pictures? I like the single engine cats. What would you think about big single engine cat like a 30 Spectre or Cobra with big power and two drives on a custom splitter box from IMCO. Get the drives behind the sponsons and counter rotate. Should be more stable? Just a wild idea I have because of some parts laying around.

I would be cool, If you could get the motor installed in the center of the boat, without it sitting completely above the rear hatch. No center pod on the Spectre.

Yeah I forgot about the center pod. Would have to use Daytona or HTM.

Sean - I'll call you today.

Here is how mine has done to date.
Crate 502 PrCharger 9# boost a bit over 100 HTM claimed 600hp
7.4 Procharger 9# boost 87 ProCharger claimed it had 500hp
540 n/a 93 no idea on the hp
Now I am building a 525sc.

Just sold my 25 Daytona, had it dialed in as a reliable bang for buck combo, 454 magefi with whipple @7.5 lbs for 650 at the crank. XZ 1.36, with 1.5" shorty and labbed 30, best of 99.0 at 1125 feet of elevation in fresh water. I miss that boat :(

Currently having a 502ci / 750hp motor installed in my 2001 American Offshore 2600. I do not have any speeds yet, but hope to be close to or over 100mph. Hopefully Wette Vette doesn't run away from me too bad.
