Please, everyone be very careful out there. I haven't seen this much crap floating around in many years. Only takes one telephone pole to turn this into a very big disaster.

I am coming up from Texas to do business in Virginia during the last week of June. I attended the NYC run last year and it was the ultimate show. I want to go again this year. Can someone send me some specifics or the website address? BTW, the hospitality of the East Coast people was outstanding.
Thanks, Jim

The count down begins. I can't wait. I'm just hoping for good weather. If not, Billy will just have to perform his "Parting of the Clouds". He does do that well.

The Chi-Town Hustler will be there with 10 passangers on the boat. If the Hudson goes down hill we could win. Arriving Thursday night and leaving Monday at sunrise(permit tow).

Re: NYC Poker Run

As mr. velocity said, please be careful out there. Sounds like there's going to be a number of very fast boats out there. If conditions are not exactly right, do not let your ego get ahead of your safety. At 150+ it takes very little for things to go terribly wrong. And 2004 didn't exactly start well in that department...

There is something I still don't understand though. I tought poker runs were invented so we could all enjoy a day of fast boating without the expense of safety gear required for racing, without the risk associated with racing. Now it turns out that we're back racing, with all the risks associated with that, but still without the expense of compulsory safety gear and without the limits of technical regulations. Which makes the whole thing 10X more dangerous. I hate to say it but it's going to end in tears one day...

To Ron P;
Thanks for input. I was at Skaterfest last year but missed you. Not sure if you were there, anyway I will make a point of looking you up at the run.

I talked to Billy and am set up for the Fri party and Sat run. I don't need a fast ride, just want to go on an escort boat for a little jaunt.

Thanks, Jim Vonwolske
