Default Problem with ABS brakes on chevy dually

I need help trying to figure out what is wrong with my ABS system. The ABS system activates only when I am braking and turning at the same time. I know the wheels are not skidding when this happens. It never does this when I am braking in a straight line. This problem started happening after I put a Detroit Locker in the rear axle. The truck is a 2wd chevy dually. Has this happenes to anyone else? What may be the problem?

Very likely that the locker could be causing rear wheels to turn at a rate different than what the system is set up to "see". In other words without the locker the wheels would turn at a different rate and with the locker they are turning at an equal rate. Not sure how to fix that exactly, but a good 4wd shop should know about this problem as it would be common with these modifications.

1st what year dually is She..second if she is 1996 or newer she should have a OBD2 computer system and 4 wheelantilock brakes. What you will need to diag this is either a GM tech2 scan tool or I think snapon will work..Go into the software to watch the
wheel speed sensor readings should be a screen with four readings. next monitor all 4 speeds 1 for each wheel sounds like 1 is dropping out before the rest causing your ABS to think a wheel is locking and then activating..she may have a chaffed wire or a partial break in one and it is aggrivated when you turn the wheels..causing a signal interupt..Good Luck

I had the same issue with my Ford. It turned out that the rear springs and shocks were smoked and when I was in a turn the tires would hop causing the computer to freek. Since I replaced the shocks and springs I have had no issues.

Blown is probably right, you need to get reprogrammed.

The Locker axles may cause a reading the computer does not recognize.

Also, depends upon the year. Earlier GM's only had ABS on the rear wheels.

I've got a Detroit in my Hummer w/ ABS and no problems. Can't even tell the Detroit is back there except off road.

Look For a broken wheel speed sensor ar chaffed wire.. the wire comes off the hub and has two wires in the shield and has a connector about 12 inches from the sensor . the sensor can be found on the inside of the front hubs (kind of behind the calipers) inspect the connectors and wire/shielding for damage.. that is the visual test otherwise refer to my above info..
