IMO, setting fire to race boats is PURE SACRILEGE!!!

Well, not really.... ;)

It's just the annual Newberg Oregon Memorial Day Regatta, which always includes a Saturday night bonfire, in which a boat or two (which have outlived their use) are added to the bonfire as a sacrifice - - similar to a Viking funeral tradition.
