Actually ....no, because if the top guys can't handle 'em.....who can?

The accidents are not just occurring on the race course..... but in the bays, rivers and lakes. Last weekends Activator/Gladiator adventure was in a Poker Run.... and people do put the hammer down in Poker Runs..... What's the point of bringing a go fast boat to a go fast boat event....if you don't....go fast?

Safety must be the overriding concern...and a less safe design should be sacrificed...in all cases.

I would not call that extreme, I would call that stupid.

There was a thread not too long ago where someone tried to avoid a floating log or tree, spun the boat and threw people out. I would not call what he had to do extreme and if a boat can handle evasive maneuvers then it has a design flaw.

I'll settle for the cocktails. Making a profit on selling boats is no longer in my life plan.

That's not pushing the boat to the extreme, it's pushing the operator's ability to the extreme.

Actually that was a test ride on a National Marine boat and the tester was killed.......

To sum it all up....we can agree on the following:

1. There are dopes and bozos on the water.......and on websites

2. There are pieces of equipment that are less predictable than others

3. Something should be done about both

Rich...there is just no reaching you on this one....read my last post again....if you dont know what the limits of a particular machine are...you are inevitably going to find out in one way or another.....and will respect them in the future...hopefully....Racing accidents and pleasure boating accidents may happen for the same reason but Racers push it to the limit...they expect to be on the ragged edge.....the guy with no experience or knowledge of what the edge is and blindly pushes it is going to find out the hard way.....High performance boating has inherent dangers....if you are RESPONSIBLE and educate yourself and dont operate in an IRRESPONSIBLE manner then you should greatly diminish them.....and if you dont.....well then you will end up a statistic.......

Not the thread I was thinking of, the owner of the boat is an OSO member.

Precisely my point....so who is at fault....the operator...or the boat.....????
