Re: Anyone been out to Lake Powell lately???
haven't been there lately (september last year) but i would say it's very low! i believe about 120 ft down from full. if memory serves correct, i think 3704 is completely full. latest data from may 31 shows 3587.17 and about 7000cfs positive inflow, so it sure isn't coming up very fast either! sorry no pictures though, i am still in brazil, will be for probably for another 3 weeks or so. but when i get back in the states i plan on making a trip down there to see it. i understand it's the lowest it's been since 1973 should be a cool sight. if no one has posted any pics by then i'll be sure and get some on here for ya.

Re: Anyone been out to Lake Powell lately???
Was there last weekend. It is about the same as last summer but 2 of the ramps have been extended over the winter. It was going up at the rate of a foot per day. Still very low but hey its still a big body of water.

Lake Powell, Lake Mead (wich is my back yard) and the Colorado River supply Las Vegas with water as well as California (using the most), Arizona, and Mexico.
They say it recovered from droughts like this before but not with this kind of usage.

Re: Anyone been out to Lake Powell lately???
Another scary factor... The state of Colorado is threatening to create a project called "The big straw".. where the state will put in a small catch dam upstream from the confluence of the Green and Colorado river and divert the water to a pumping station and send it east toward their population centers that are growing.... ulp....
