F 350 Dually

I'm thinking about buying a 2001 Ford dually with a powerstroke. Anyone know what kind of milage I will get with this? Also any negative feedback I should watch out for? Thanks all.

I have one and it is a great Truck. It is the first Ford I ever owned and it tows great. I have the Banks Stinger Plus System on it and I get about 16.5 around town. I ordered it with all of the towing stuff so the gearing is high.

I tow my Formula 382 with it ~14,500 lbs with the trailer and I smokes up hills, the Dually is totally stable towing in high winds and when being passed by a Semi!

I can pass my friends with similar weight boats on any grade..one has a Freightliner FL60 and the other a Kodiak with the Cat motor.

I also have the BUC barke on it..similar to a jake breake. It is great for long downhills you never need to use truck or trailer brakes hardly.

I used to own a '99 F-250 dually PSD. It was an awesome truck. I did add the K&N airfilter, a 5' exhaust and a Diablo chip in it to wake it up alot. I wouldn't reccoment the chip now because it blew a few torque converters ($$$$) The 7.3 was/is a great motor.
Mileage was approx. 16-17mpg hwy and 12-13mpg around town (non-towing) It usually got 13mpg towing heavy loads (10,000lbs-15,000lbs) on the highway.

I usually found the best rotation for the tires would be to rotate the fronts every 5,000 miles 2x, then the third time (every 15,000) switch the outside rear with the front on the same side and continue cycle again. I never touched the inside rear tires. This used to get me 70,000 miles out of the stock tires. I was pretty happy with that.

If I buy the Ford I'm going to sell the Chev. It's a 2000 4dr shortbox 4X4 probably around $17,000. If anyone is interested let me know and I get you some more info.

I have 80,000 on my 99 and it has been OK. I just got done with rear springs and new Bilsteins at all corners. Today when I started it the trany trouble light was flashing so I have to go to the dealer to find out what is up and last weekend in Maine it was BILLOWING black smoke but I think that may have been some bad gas as after I filled up it has been ok since.
