stuck again.

My boat sits on a 98 quickload alum. trailer. with the pvc guide uprights that mount the lights. And I need a new upright for the one side. It is 1.5" pvc schedule 20 5 foot long. Since code for plumbing is schedule 40 I can't find 20 ANYWHERE. Does anyone have a piece laying around.

Go to the local Home Depot. They will have it. You might have to buy a 10 foot section, but they can cut it down to the exact size right there in the store.

the schedule doesn't matter, just get a pice that looks like it. Its all the same in terms of OD. Don't make this so difficult that we need to hit you in the head with a piece of this stuff. :) Oh yea :stupid:

O.k. actually it does. The o.d. isn't what matters its the i.d. cause it slides over the steel elbow at the bottom and 40 won't fit over the pipe. :eureka:.

Bigwavs: no luck I've checked home depot, Lowes, every plumbing suppliuer in northern OH, no luck.

McMaster doesn't even carry the stuff. I know that sched 20 is occasionally used for 4" drain tile, but I don't know where you will get sched 20 1.5" I'd have to suggest a local plumbing wholesaler. They if they don't have it in stock, they proably won't order you a single length either.

Replace both with easy to find stock or better yet, get rid of both. What do you need them for?

I made mine from Stainless Steel exhaust tubing and then took a piece of 2.25" pvc and slid it over the top of the tubing. It works great when loading the boat. If I bump the uprights the pvc just spins over the ss tubing.

I'm thinking of getting rid of them. It does make it easier to get her on the trailer straight though with how murky the water is where I put in. you cant see the rear or the trailer when in the water. Also I like the lights mounted up hi where I don't have to worry about water getting into the wiring and bulbs.

Tear other pole off. Try a few times without. Unplug your elec connection from truck when you get trailer wet. Lights are cheap and easy.

If above fails, go back to plan "A"

My trailer floats or I would do away with mine . All I have to do is get her thru the uprights and the trailer centers itself under the boat. :D
