Does that qualify as a step bottom hull now? :D :D

If so, lucky it did not spin 90* and barrel roll down the ramp. :D

I saw that boat running in Miami (government cut) last Weds. Looked very sharp.

Man that is going to make me re-think about disconnecting my bow hook until like it was said about the boat hitting the water. I use to take it off in the stagging area to help speed up the launch.
Think I need to print out this picture and keep in the truck and if anyone gives me any question as to why I do not unhook prior to the ramp I can let the picture speak for itself.

I ALWAYS left my winch hook hitched until the boat was beginning to float. Now, that I have a step bottom, I do not think the boat is going to climb over the step on the trailer, but I still wait until the boat is touching the water before I un-latch... or at least I have so far.

More likely it was coming out of the water. Big diesel spinning all the way up a wet ramp until it got on flat ground, tires took a grip and dumped the boat on the ramp.

The boat was not damaged fortunately! The Marine Enforcement Officer whose boat that is, was less than amused when I showed him the photographs. There are 40 different 39' Midnight Express in the Homeland Security/Border Patrol/Immigration & Customs Enforcement fleet. Each has quad Mercury power, and the same lamination schedule as our many civilian boats. Look for a Powerboat Mag article in the next few months regarding our government boats. -Ryan Haines, Midnight Express Powerboats

Lets hope these guys are better at protecting our country than launching a boat. Thats a nice Midnight Express.

I go down a steep ramp and always release the bow. There is no way for that thing to slide. Now with wet bunks, a good yank and a broken or forgotten winch and it could slide off coming out. :stupid:
