You can also take it to Mike at Harbor Marine in Monroe Mi. He's very good with TRS drives 734-241-2833. Ask for Chip. They have many TRS parts in stock. Our drive shop at T-N-T can turn it around in a day or two, but you have to ship it. We can help you with that if it helps.

Re: Thought it was going to be a great weekend
I had the same thing happen a few years ago and we determined that we hit something submerged and it caused the props to stop and that caused the shaft to back up, shearing the gears and the shaft popped the cap off. We had to replace both drives because it was more cost effective than replacing all of the parts (labor + parts). Whoever you take it to they need to convey that to the ins. company. State Farm paid for the new units minus deductible. GOOD LUCK!

Re: Thought it was going to be a great weekend
What's curious about the picture is that most of the cracked surface is corroded and a small section of the crack looks fresh. If true, it suggests that the crack was there for a bit and finally let go. Just my .02

That was the first thing i thought but it also looks like it is right on the seam so were probably looking at the gasket material. ?? |

You're right ofshore, the darker section is gasket and the whiter area, at the corner, is where it broke.
