Re: CASH BAR goes racing.....and WINS.!!
BoatMe, No offense taken.
I have not had a tremendous amount of seat time with Allen. We DID practice all day Sat. simulating the course. I knew every turn and straight before the green flag dropped.
I HAVE driven an AMT cat before and was aware of the tendencies. I would NEVER have assumed I could step into the faster classes(SCL,SC,SV) and be safe. I did know several of the teams in SS class before hand and am very tight with a few. I knew they would take care with me.
By the 4th lap we were running times equal to or faster than the leaders. I NEVER had a situation where I wasn't aware of who was infront/behind/around me.
Allen has been one of the most consistent and safest drivers in SBI, that is why I felt comfortable working with him. He is respected and well liked and the whole organization was happy he finally won after a few seasons of 2nd and 3rds.
Sure I would have liked to start in a P class, but those opportunities never came and this one did. I also think I learned more racing in a 9 boat class, than I would have racing a P class with 1-2 boats.
I DON'T think I'm a world beater now. We had a strong boat and some good luck and we won. I would't expect that to happen again. I would like to continue and I hope it happens, but I enjoyed this and thats all.

PS- I hope to see you at a Poker Run as you seem very knowledgeable and straight-up. I respect that and thank you for ANY input.

Congratulations on your new addiction there greg. I know youve been wanting to get into this for a while and see your first crack at it was a good one. Now you just need to figure out how to get out while you can still afford it.
PS. for future reference, let me know if you ever need me to fill in for you.
