Headed to HAVASU to pick up our new BOAT!!
 

Jen and I leave for Havasu this thursday.

We're picking up our new (to us) boat!!

After selling the Cig, I didn't know how I could top that boat, we loved every minute of owning it, but I think we may have come close.
We're shifting gears a bit here, but the size and speed of this new boat will fit in our plans just right.
You may have seen it before in a magazine or two, in fact it's on the back cover of the latest Powerboat mag if you have it. :drink:

Although it may be "unstable" :rolleyes: by design, and built west of Denver :rolleyes: :rolleyes: we absolutely love this boat. It is difficult to find ANY negative press about these boats (other than on this board), so we are very confident in our purchase.
It's a DCB F-29 with 580 cubic inch Larry Peto motors (mild at 650 hp) and IMCO SC drives.
It should be pretty quick and fast with the right props. :D



So, anyone heading out to Havasu this Friday or Saturday morning, stop by the Agave Inn at Havasu City and say hi!!

Come on up to Lake Mead :drink: Watch out in Havasu, they have been cracking down on the noise levels and handing out tickets like candy there, to the tune of $120.00. You should have a blast, head to the "sand bar" and see the sights :D

As far as the noise goes, it has Gatlin mufflers built in to the tailpipes. :cool: :D
It is supposed to be really quiet at idle.

SO, congrats on the DCB. You should take time and put in at Lake Powell on your way back to Kansas. Even though it is low, it is still a VERY BIG lake. We will probably be at Bullfrog this weekend. Sam

If we had time to stop, we would, but we will just be hitting the road to try to get back for fathers day, my kids made it clear I was to be home!!!

I understand on the Fathers Day deal. You really should try and make it out to Powell sometime. I can assure you it would be a trip to remember. Not a "Party" lake like LOTO or Havasu, but just an incredible lake to see and explore. On the other hand maybe you have been to Powell before and I am not telling you anything you don't already know. LOL. BTW, no worries on the "other" boat. The DCB really is a sweet boat. Sam

We have gone for the past three years as well. What a blast!

I have already ordered two custom fit Lifeline jackets, and I may use them in the Shootout this year, it just depends on how comfortable I am with the boat by then.

We would be in the C2M2 class, in which last year there were no entries.
Not hard to win if you are the only competitor! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I've always wanted to hit Powell, I have some friends that go every fall for a week on a huge houseboat. Gotta make that trip sometime. :drink:

I loved my Cig. I will also enjoying ripping by all the Cig's on the lake!!

If I was offshore at all, I would definitely be buying a Cig, probably a Top Gun. :cool:

I think Charley has seen mid 120's, but with a gear and prop change it could see more (probably in the low 130 range). He did not want to loose acceleration by setting it up for a big # on the top.

Dave's personal 29 has seen 123 mph with 525's. :cool:

You'll love that boat.Are you putting it in the water at all in havy? I'll be in a all white 26' AO. We don't get to hang with pep's from Kansas very often. Maybe you can teach us a few things.

Hey SummerO, beautiful boat!
There is a guy on Lake Perry here in Kansas that has a DCB...head over there this weekend. We have a big group from NE coming in. It should be a awesome weekend!
