Cause the damn manatee zealots can't get it through their fat stupid heads that despite boating use and registrations that have skyrocketed over the last ten/twelve years, the manatee population, DURING THE EXACT SAME TIME PERIOD HAS INCREASED BY OVER 300%.

I certainly don't have anything against our beloved little "sea cow", but at the same time I don't think that human existance should be eliminated either. Or that we should have to give up our boating rights. Make no mistake about it, if the Save the Manatee Club has it's way, recreational boating as we know it in Florida would be eliminated. There is no reasoning with that group. They don't want to be bothered by any little detail like economic repercussions that boating limitations impact people.
They are the worst of the worst.

DONE! Here it is.

Gentlemen,

I am writing to you with regard to the actions taken by the Save The Manatee Club. They are nothing more than a left wing radical organization with pure political motivation. They have masked their hidden agenda with the notion of saving the Manatee. Rather than debate the FACTS they play on peoples emotions. It is clear that the economic benefits of a race such as this are nearly immeasurable in size. However, anyone with any common sense understands that recreational boats are NOT the cause of Manatee injuries. Look at the statistics from the Florida Wildlife Commission and you will see that in FACT the Manatee population is growing EXPONENTIALLY! Clearly, this is NOT what the Manatee Club wants you to see.

I believe that protecting the environment is important, however, when we take action it MUST be based on FACT and NOT on FICTION. The FACTS are CLEAR. Offshore races benefit businesses, families, children, communities and tax revenue. Not to mention all the FUN! I urge you to use YOUR COMMON SENSE and let the races go on!

Thank you.

The save the manatee number is: 1-800-432-5646 E-mails aren't going to do anything so if you find a spare moment you should call and vent. If a lot of members call then maybe they might get an idea that no one cares about their little agenda. Tell them that you want to adopt a speedboat.
