Chris,

How are you? Your boat looked AWESOME this weekend. Let me know if you need my VTX1800C with Vance & Hines BIG SHOTS on it to visit some evening. This winter I can send a piped sled home with Kappus if you think it may halp packa dog run in the yard for you. Snow usually packs best between 10:30 and 10:59 on cold quiet winter nights.

I think my 2.5's need to be tuned and since you are close to sea level I understand that helps in tuning. An added benefit to them is mosquito control. When can you "tune" my motors?

I always did my engine maintenance on Saturday or Sunday afternoons. Never had problems with the neighbors. In fact they would end up coming over, we would drink a lot of beer, and it would take me forever to get my work done

Shane,,, thanks for the compliment, it was pretty rough on the way home around the T.Z. and Croton, we got tossed around pretty good. I guess you summed up those waters pretty well as " a washing machine ". I don't feel so bad though,, just about everyone came back complaining how rough it was.

I live on the water with the boat out back on a lift. Everybody has a boat on the street. They [email protected]#ch everytime I fire up. No revving, 4-5 minute warm up and I am gone. One neighbor said they can hear me 7 miles away when I shut it down. I said that's a coincidence I could hear it too and love every second of it!

[QUOTE=jafo]Reading all of this makes me glad I'm out in the country. I may not have any access to high-speed internet or cable (I do have a dish for the tube), but there is no substitute for acreage when it comes to privacy and PITA neighbors. QUOTE]

What can I do? Who do I contact to get this eye sore gone!

Jafo, i agree 100% there are a few down sides to living in the country like cable, city water, sewers and gas but i wouldn't trade it for anything. I have one neighbor across the road and not directly in front of the house other than that my next closest neighbor is about 1500 feet away. My house sits on the front of a five acre lot and the neighbor next to me has his house on the back of their five acre lot and there's a tree line in between us so i can't even see them, much less hear them, i'll take that any day over the benefits of living in the city.

Wasabe, You have no idea, I'll post some pictures tomorrow on how the only neighbor anywhere close to me chooses to landscape their yard and it ain't pretty. I've never complained but boy do i really want to the only thing they have going for them is i have my garage, another building and then some landscaping next to my house so from in the house or in the back yard i can't see their house. I don't know how it is where you live but in my township we have a blight ordinance so if i wanted to i could complain and they would make them clean it up but i don't want to create any problems for myself since i'm not home most of the time.

The city blows for a boater. It's a hassle every time I want to get a boat in or out.
I launched my 21 Nova yesterday because my 26 isn't back from the shop yet.
I had to go through hell just to get out of my driveway, it's a major stress to take the day off of work to launch and be blocked in by losers with nowhere to go and nothing to do but collect junk cars and put them in the street.
People are ok about MY noise, because I never do it early in the AM or late at night, and I never just rev them for no reason. But they s#ck. One family across the street keeps 8 vehicles for 3 drivers just so three out of the eight are running at any time. The "extras" sit in front of my house for days.

Another one likes to throw "after parties" for the underage drinker crowd. They start showing up about 2:30 am with these little toy looking cars with exhausts that sound like rice grinders. The groups walking from cars to the party shout and laugh and roll around on people's yards and jump on their cars. They scream up and down the street in first gear until 6 am pretending that they are in the Fast and the Furious. They drop their bottles around the houses they park in fornt of, and they stand in people's front yards and pee.

Then there's the renters. They cookout in the front yard at 3 am. It's a ghetto scene. Voices as loud as the punk kid's cars.

The guy with the machine shop in his garage that liked to work on metal at midnight was foreclosed on and now the house is a HUD home.

I've called the cops twice in four years about the 3am to 6 am chit.
I'm a psycho PITA neighbor?

Is there an early morning noise allowance time. If 11pm is the night time, and the morning time isn't written in stone, you can conceivably(?) fire it back up at midnight.

Been there, done that, in Ga. it got my neighbors to appreciate me doing it at 6-7pm.

like I said, I have lots of weed wacking, lawn mowing, hedge trimming, pressure washing, YZ-250 tuning to do,, and since it's really hot during the daytime, i'm gonna have to wait until at least 8:00 pm for it to cool down enough..
