Re: Need a good boat wax; captains exhaust

Waxing Frenzy! lasts up to 3 months. This has been proven thousands of times. We were just at the New York Powerboat Rally and went toe-to-toe with the Boat Shield at the Extreme Boats booth and he had to "pack up and walk away". There are a lot of misconceptions about the lasting strength of Waxing Frenzy! Our chemist has over 36 years in the finish industry. No one has more knowledge of what protects the finish better than the man who creates the finish to begin with.

We manufacture a "Teflon". However, you do not get the full protection of a wax with just that. The Boat Shield you are talking about is also not a wax. It is an acrylic coating that seals your gelcoat. As detailers and fiberglass repair specialists, we have seen the reprucussions of sealing gelcoat, not allowing it to breathe.

We can make a sealant. We choose not to. This is not the proper way to protect your gelcoat or clear coat. They need to breathe.

We are not trying to put down other products; we are merely trying to educate you on the proper way to maintain your valuable posessions.

Perhaps the Swipe Wipes (Boat Shield) guy will respond to this thread (although he did not seem to know too much about the product when I spoke with him.)

For those of you using Teflon, we would like to explain the proper method of application. Apply the Teflon (preferably with a high speed buffer). Wait 24 to 48 hours before applying your wax. This allows the Teflon to cure to your surface.

Kim-
not trying to slame your product, I was just stating my "real world" test.
Face it, their are ALOT of fine boat waxes, polishes, and sealants on the market today. Every boater will have their preference on what they like to use, and how to use.

True, Thunder, everyone will have their preference. I'm just trying to explain the differences in the products you were discussing. And, the boatshield is not a "polymer" (ask them what a polymer is!). Our wax contains the most advanced polymers in the US and Europe. Just want to help boaters understand what it is they are actually putting on their boats.

There are good products and not-so-good products. You just have to learn what works best for you that is best for your boat. We are fortunate to have the resources that we have which enable us to educate our customers.

If you are referring to the exhaust tips, I recommend the Frenzy Shark Tower metal cleaner. It is the best I have found....hands down.

As for wax.....see the above comments. I do like the easy on and off of Frenzy. Nothing lasts too long in our harsh salt water environment so frequent applications are required with whatever product I use. Frenzy is by far one of the easiest.

The Shark Tower will also take the rust between the steering and tie bar bolts, I boat in brackish water most of the time, but live on the river, so its fresh water which rinses out my motors and basically rinses everything off, I find amazing how rust can start and with a little neglect it can take over. Keeping a boat in top shape is a job in itself, but for us good products cut the time in half in our busy schedules. Sandy and I really like the Frenzy products, and it also helps to have 2 detail guys help me every weekend, washing the cars and boats. :p :D They work cheap, just a few of these :drink: and a few bucks goes along way, I better start, wax on, wax off.

The Frenzy stuff is awsome.

Kim, thanks for getting my boat detailed so quickly. My time was short and the boat above my boat dripped crap all over mine! Couldn't have THAT!!

So I guess what you're saying is:
The carnuba provides the shine and the beads - lasts about 2 weeks.
The polymers provide the protection, sheet the water and lasts a looong time.

So far I am extremely impressed with Frenzy products. They WORK!
