If you are reading "Blue Thunder" then don't believe anything in there because it is untrue. It was so nonfactual that the courts made the publisher pull it off the shelves. If you want to read the true story find "Speed Kills". "Blue thunder" tries to say that the mob had Don killed which is a total fabrication. The other book put out by Don's sun is good also. It does not go over Don's murder but the different companies and his racing career instead. It has some great photo's in it and most are in color.

"The King of Thunderboat Row" by Michael Aronow - have it at home, great book. The Mrs used Amazon's book search service to find a copy (it's out of print) and gave it to me for Xmas a couple years back. Perfect coffee table book...

Mike thats how I got Blue thunder also....Bday present from the little lady. I'll look for the other ones too...its nice to hear from all sides....The books are getting pretty pricey these days better than $50 for a hard copy in average condition but they are cool to have!

I've got them all too.
"King of Thunderboat Row" is good because it's mainly about Aronow's life, and does not really get into his murder at all, which is refreshing after reading the other two.
As for "Blue Thunder" and "Speed Kills," who knows what's true, or even close to it in either one. My opinion is that much more of the content in "Blue Thunder" sounds like a load of crap, but what do I know?
Now maybe one of these years I'll finish up "Searace."

Re: check out this blue thunder...
Thanks for all the info on the books, I was hoping that the movie would come out.......I hate to read or can't, whatever. Can I get cliff notes on them?
Wasn't BLUE THUNDER the code name for the 39 cat that he designed for US customs that was a total disaster?
As for who killed him, I know, I just can't tell anyone.
