575SCI owners- info needed

Someone I know is looking at a boat with 575SCI's in it. Since neither of us know anyone with the motors how are they?

Turn key reliable?

Do they idle well (like a HP500 or 496HO)?

Do they load up like carb engines?

What is good about them?

What is bad about them?

Any blower issues/problems?

Do they eat drives (XR's)?

Do you have to rebuild them or freshen them?

Would you buy them again?

Any info good / bad is appreciated.

Good engine..
The question is really "how much better is the 575 than the 525?"
The cost difference usually does not warrant buying the 575.
Now, Definately go 575 if you happen to have a pair of Super Chillers lying in your garage...
I have hit the key on a lot of different boats....
I once jumped into a Fountain and hit the key without opening the hatch (I know, no no)
My nexk almost broke when I heard the sound of the 575s.... EXTREMELY healthy sounding.

Oh, and they sound real healthy too.. :drink:

Now, What boat are you looking at Bill???
