Manatee protection repealed???
 

Dear Defender,
Despite thousands of emails, Governor Jeb Bush of Florida has signed SB 540, legislation that will harm endangered manatees.

Pushed by the speed boat industry, this law weakens the Florida Manatee Sanctuary Act, and will lead to the death or injury of countless manatees from propellor blades.

Please call Governor Bush's office at (850) 488-4441 to express your personal outrage.

We're not giving up. Defenders of Wildlife plans to step up our efforts to help win more protections for manatees in Florida. If you can, please make a tax-deductible donation to help underwrite these expanded programs.

are you nutz, i am going to make a tax deductable donation to my gas tank and go out and kill some manatee's, treehugger!!!!!, it is people like you that cause me to have to idle 10 miles to open water.

The ironic thing about the post at this time, is that I spent about 20 minutes argueing with 2 guys and a gal while in Office Depot today about the manattee protection over kill. :argue:

One question/statement I have found to be quite successful when confronted by a manatee weenie is ask them to explain "why in the last ten/twelve years when boat registrations and boat use has skyrocketed, has the manatee population increased by over 300% at the same time"? It would appear that we are doing something right.

we had the same scumbag treehuggin azzholes in the north country, trying to bann snowmobiles, because they said that they destroyed the trails, totally not realizing that we are the ones that spend countless man hours and ten's of thousand's of dollars
every year to maintain these trails. without snowmobilers the trails would not even exist. I hated these people up north and I hate them down here. what they need to do is get jobs, smoke a little less pot, and mind there own friggen business, and for god sake take a shower!

Finally a step in the right direction. Maybe government is finally realizing the hidden agenda for some of these organizations.

I believe that this is a form letter sent to all members of this association....any reprisals would be best served if they were sent to Mr. Delvecchio I would imagine....if Dean is still around the board maybe he can chime in and let us know if he has had any dealings with this group....
