Can You Hear Me Now!?!?
Hey Dyno, Mr Gadgets, did you hear me last night on Lake MI? It was about 11pm, full moon and full throttle :) I ran from Saugatuck to Holland with some friends and we were just cruising at 4500, full moon and a 1ft chop. I could have run to the Mac Bridge!!! Man, that was what this is all about. I know you and Kaama heard me one night so I figured you may have last night. :) See you this weekend :)

Re: Can You Hear Me Now!?!?
running at night under a full moon is the best!! i remember one night we ran out in the lake with a 41 apache and a couple of 12 meter fountains. nuthin better  i always seem to get pulled over though. being in a sport boat i think the water cops expect a drunk driver at that hour which is fine because i never drink an drive the boat. hopefully they will start to recognize my boat not be so tempted to pull me over :D. last time i got pulled over at 2:00am after they got done with the safety check and all was cool the water cop said "aaa . . .you might want to get your exhaust Db level checked, sounds a bit loud" so i says hey dont you guys have one of those meter thingies on your boat and he says "aaa . . . you might want to get somebody ELSE to check it out" think he was telling me if he checked it an it was to loud he would have to make it official. i thought that was funny and cool of him to give me the heads up. so i put quick an quiets on it :D

Re: Can You Hear Me Now!?!?
Cool  The moon made it like day, I was 2 miles out in Lake MI so there is no speed limit or noise level restrictions. I turn all the dash lights off and I can see like day, I do turn them on for a second of course  It is amazing what a full moon and a dry North wind will do for visibility, I would call it a harvest moon. I'm glad you heard me, the merc/gills are loud when the four barrels kick in :) I swear there is no sound better, well a fighter jet going vertical with it's afterburners on is better. :) :) Actually that noise is scary loud and is no wonder you can demoralize an enemy, they must think it is God himself roaring.

Re: Can You Hear Me Now!?!?
Mitch,
It was a gorgeous night last night with the full moon. I'm jealous. You should have boated down to South Haven. They were having their fireworks show last night and the place was PACKED OUT with people---lots of boats too. I headed back home to GR last night after the fireworks show had ended. By the way the Holland webcam looks this morning, the lake looks very flat with winds at 4mph coming out of the SE. Looks like another beautiful day out there. Just think of how your boat would sound with the tail pipes dry! :D |
Re: Can You Hear Me Now!?!?
If been for the race boats, maybe we would've heard you here in Sarasota.
You are SO right, hard to beat running under a full moon with crystal clear skies. It's one of those moments that just makes you appreciate life, especially with loud pipes. |
Re: Can You Hear Me Now!?!?
Mark, it was flat today, I am 4 for 4 on the rain deal. We were in Grand Haven at 5 and I said "it is going to rain" we got out of our 100 boat raft :) and headed to Holland, 30 miles from where we were, 10 at idle. We got home and had the boat in the Garage right as the rain started. We had 5 min to spare. :) Hanky Panky was packed and the skin was everywhere. :)

You can already see me at Hanky-panky.com :) Now it is the 4th and it is dark as night and we are washed out. I ran the crap out of this thing for a week, a day off will let me clean this thing. :) Dyno, see what happened once you were running, the weather went South, now get out there and break something so the sun will come out. :)

Mitch you sacrafice a motor to the cause!!I'm just getting warmed up! SOTW next weekend then up to Gods country the following week then its the northern Michigan fun run!!!!
|
Re: Can You Hear Me Now!?!?
I forgot about the fun run, SOTW will be great, the weather is supposed to be good and I am ready. We ran to GH this weekend, a SE wind and the water was perfect one mile out. At shore it was flat but out a bit they were 2-3 chop about 3ft apart, you could really feel it lift the boat and when the trim was on you just felt the little tap of waves. :) a little k-plane and it was stable and easy. That steering really makes a difference.
