Warlock 31 sxt (taking delivery tomorrow)

I have been looking at these for two years. Huge cabin! This one has 525sc's. When i test drove it I had it at 90mph at 4500rpm. I still had a quarter of the throttle left. I wasn't going to flog another guys boat too bad. I didn't have alot af trim in it, just enough to keep it from porpoising. The water was pretty flat also. It has stellings boxes and 30 pitch Bravo props. I figure I am going to have 100-102 at 5200 on the rev limiter? I will probably throw some Stellings on it and maybe 105-107? Anybody running a 31sxt or know about them?

Re: Warlock 31 sxt (taking delivery tomorrow)

Tomorrow I will try. My wife and I took the week off for our summer vacation. We planned on boating the whole time (starting last friday) but my other cat is having a little problem. It will run at half throttle but as soon as you put the throttle to it and start it boosting it runs out of gas. It dies for a few seconds. If the throttle is reduced it catches back up and starts running again. Because we missed four days of our "vacation" We are going to try to gat out of Dodge fast if we an get the deal done. This Warlock Rocks. I can't wait!

Congrats,
We looked at a few 31's before we bought our 30 Spectre, still have our 25 SXT we need to sell, wanted to stick with outboards or the 31 would probably have been the boat for us also, can't find a bigger cabin in a cat of that size.

Just curious, what drive gear ratio is in it?

Re: Warlock 31 sxt (taking delivery tomorrow)

Hell I don't know! Its gonna be a 1.36 or a 1.5. I am turning 30 pitch Bravo's that are stock. I have only had it to about 90mph at 4500rpm so far. I will push it some more and hopefully find the rev limiter if conditions are right this weekend. I figure its got 102- 105 on the Bravo's.

Re: Warlock 31 sxt (taking delivery tomorrow)

I have been looking at the Warlocks for some time, the 31 seems to be the best fit for the family. My kid like to play in the cuddie so if a cat is in my future a Warlock may be it.
Any idea how much more insurance really is compared to a similiar sized V with same power?

Looks great.

The issue of insurance is really measure of the insured. I have a 31 Warlock Cat that I have insured through StateFarm for probably less than most have for a similiar sized V bottom. But then again I have been a performance boater with them for over 20 years and have never made a claim.

How do you know its a great boat? Alot of experience with the 525sci's? Tell me more....

PokerRun388 02-13-2011 08:14 PM

Yes,, I read up on the hp525sci when Mercury first started their line of HP engines... years back... back when they introduced the 525, 600, and 900scis.....

525sci = great, reliable engine, using a Weiand 177 supercharger.... There u have it MC240....

then Mercury went w/ a 575sci using a Weiand/B&M 256 Blower....still see alot of those today......:drink:

SVL-WARLOCK 02-14-2011 03:02 PM

What do you mean no such thing? 525sc. tons of them. It was a hp motor from merc racing in the early 90s. Just sold a boat with 1991 525 sc motors.

SVL-WARLOCK 02-14-2011 03:03 PM

The 31 was a fast boat. Beat the eliminator and skater at the worlds in 99 for APBA in st pete.

stirling 02-14-2011 03:08 PM

He wrote SC ,,i ,, he said Merc never made a 525SCi but a 525SC just a misunderstood ,no biggi

Was'nt that the 27 world class?

SVL-WARLOCK 02-15-2011 07:58 AM

No, it was a 31 cat running in factory 3. The 27 ran in factory 1. along with a bunch of 29.
