Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
Hold On!! In the rough water!! I had my wife and a friend of hers on board last year and we were running along at about 60 mph and she started to loose her top!!! She asked me.......what should I hold on to the boat or my top.......what did I say........the boat of course!! She went out with us last weekend.... she wore a tight fitting bathing suit  Wife knows that the only talking is me yelling Hold On!! Unless the water is calm and then we can carry on a small conversation. :)

Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
shut the f$#@ up and hold on...where docking, forget the beer get the fenders and lines!!!!
|
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
Try and figure out why they are in the boat.
|
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
They sit and talk, have drinks, they can go in the cabin and mix blender drinks, the only thing I must have is a drink for docking and a bow bunny.
If the girls must kiss when docking, I will close my eyes, Just Remember my boat is a slow, very slow. |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
Usually I watch them spray beer all over their face when they are drinking and we hit a wave.

Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
I take very few people out, learned why a while ago. Unless they have some idea of what to expect it just isn't fun.
I tell them what to expect while underway and what is expected of them, NOTHING. One time a friend of my wife's was screaming at me to slow down, from the death defying speed of 45 mph. I throttled it straight to Marina Jack's, gave her a twenty dollar bill, and told her to take a cab back to the launch ramp where her car was. Have not heard from her since. Wife was a little pissed but she got over it. My wife knows what to do and when to do it. We don't have to say a word. Once in a very great while she'll simply ask, which side are docking to? Other than that she's got everything else covered. |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
somewhere around 67 they start asking " is this all this thing gots?"
Ah yes that its :D |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
My dash says:
You WILL get SCARED on this ride! And I aint kiddin!!! |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
People don't seem to understand that these boats are less like a ride on a Sea Ray, and more like a ROLLERCOASTER!
I even fabricated removable seatbelts for my kids. |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
I laugh my a$$ off when they try to use the head while at speed. I make them clean it up. Second funniest thing is watching all their stuff fly out of the boat. Glasses, towels, bathing suits, underwear, etc...One guy lost his shorts that were laying loose in the cockpit. His wallet was in the pocket :D Third funniest is them biitching about their bruises from being banged around.
My wife is a trooper, but she needs to take a boating class. I teach her knots, but it doesn't stick. My 7 yr old boy falls asleep between poker run stops. You should see his head bobble around. Priceless! |

But I did not Get Off! Actually, for being WAY out on the ragged edge more than a few times in my life, being in Gary's boat was definately the cats ass. |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
Brian,
That was one of the best days on the water I've ever had. You did come back for more after the short run from Monty's ... couldn't pass on a run to Gilbert's  I knew later that day we were in for a wild ride when Titos, now solo in the OSO Gladiator, looked over and asked if we wanted to run back on the outside from Gov't Cut to Haulover ... he had the look of 'I'll show this Cali boy' .... WOW, it was on like Donkey Kong ... it was BIG out there(big is relative) .... I think I earned a little respect for the Westside :) Glad you had a good time G |

Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
In my old cat, they used to hold on for their lives.
In the cruiser, they make me drinks. |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
My crew generally make a mess on the upholstery. :D
Still, it stops the vinyl from drying out and cracking. :D When we are stationery, they are usually trying to kill me. :D |

Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
Gary, that was awesome. I am hoping to have Monsoon in FL for this winter.
|
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
My crew usually holds on for dear life and complains they got beat up when we get back to the dock. Hopefully next year it will be better..... Bigger boat in my future....
Other than that, I have a bumper sticker on the passenger side that say's; "Yes it's fast. No, you can't drive it!" |

Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
My friends won't ride in a car with me, but a few actually tried the boat. All I heard was "Slow DOWN!!!" and "Oh S@IT!!!". Going to have to find new boat friends...
|
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
I cant believe I only heard one mention of girls losing their tops. In my boat it seems that at 70 the girls start to notice something funny about there tops...at 80 they are trying to hold onto the boat and their top...at 90 they have to make a choice...at 100 the only choice is to hold on!!! God I hate boating :D

Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
Well if I ever get my boat running again, maybe you would dare to come out for a ride??? :drink:
|
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
I would have no fear ridin on your boat, foul darlin.
The island crew hit Lake St Clair last year and are talkin about doin that again this year. Maybe your crew can head that direction too  |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
All depends on funds and whether or not I ever get my motor back together!!!!
|
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
One new rule I'm going to have to implement this year is that everyone turn off their cell phones when we enter a docking situation until the boat is tied to the dock. Seems that lately everytime I start to pull into a slip, everyone wants to get on the damn phone

Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
Nice to see this thread pop up again.
I hope this year my engine is so loud, that passengers are holding their ears or hanging on. At least they won't be to chat. |
Re: What do your passengers do while underway?
they do what I tell em to, plain and simple...

Did you get any pictures from the Hammond run in 2003? I'd love to see them. I was promised a CD with all the pictures from that run and never received it. Hope things will be different this year. Dan |
