OH man that's gotta suck

If I saw those signs I would hit the deck, remember its looking for ground and you don't want to be its path.

When I used to work at Orlando International Airport an airline employee was directing an aircraft to the teminal when lightning struck the tail and came out the aircrafts nose killing him instantly.

Jeff, you take the smart approach to life. No one should be afraid to learn, or be reminded, of something even if it is something that we kind of go into "robot mode" when thinking, or not thinking, about it.

Like I already said, it was just a reminder to all, don't take lightning for granted.

And thank you all who posted that they appreciated the thread. Russ

Re: Man killed by lightning strike

I got zapped by lightning a few years ago while in the shower, luckily all I got was a nasty jolt and a bad headache. I never want to experience that again. I try not to ever be near a faucet when it's storming. Last year, we were nearly hit while running from a storm. It struck a sandbar maybe 30 yards in front of my starboard and the water erupted into a steam cloud. Too close for comfort. Lightning is a real and present threat to boaters, especially in FL, so it should be revered as such.

Thanks for the advice Jeff.

About the funny guy stuff I adhere to the saying below your name of "Live4Fun, Lifes too short".

As for designating me as a smartass* it's not news to anyone that knows me.

Hope your motor building business goes well they had nice things to say about them in an article I read lately. Keep building them you seem to know what your doing and I'll keep buying some on my end.

Oh please .... give me a frickin' break

I use this board for boating information and entertainment ... fortunately for me, I have a life outside of an internet message board.

Relax

GLH, it wasn't you on the last thread, it was Cig 1. What I'm trying to say is..it's better to learn on a daily basis, then to think we know it all, whether it's boating related or not, hell, I learn every day, and can be a smart a** as well. I have learned alot from many people on this board, there is a great wealth of knowledge, just sometimes you have to read between the lines of BS. I just take certain things seriosly, especially about boating, when it can save a few lives its worth reading, we have had to many accidents this year, and with speeds increasing it's not going to get better. Have a good day, Jeff :)
